Rockville, MD (October 16, 2018) – Members of the Gaithersburg-Germantown, Rockville, Clarksburg & Olney Chambers of Commerce learned how to prepare themselves for career leadership at the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce’s (GGCC) 2nd Annual “Level Up” seminar at Johns Hopkins University Montgomery County.

Attendees learned how to “re-define leadership on October 16, 2018 at the “Level Up” seminar. Scott Alexander, author of “Lead Like a Black Belt: Transform Your Leadership Style” discussed leadership. The interactive seminar taught the attendees how to become a great leader and empower others.

Everyone walked away with a functional definition of leadership that will change their interactions and thinking; as well as takeaways that they can implement immediately. Continuing professional development is important because it ensures you continue to be competent in your profession. It’s not likely you’re a natural born leader (most of us aren’t).The keynote speaker examined our own biases and re-defined leadership in a way that everyone could relate to.

The Chambers were delighted to have leadership and martial arts expert Scott Alexander, Leadership Consultant, Executive Coach, Speaker, of Scott M. Alexander, LLC. Alexander is an entrepreneur, leader, coach, and teacher who works with individuals and organizations to improve their impact. A 5th Degree Black Belt and the author of Lead Like a Black Belt ™, Alexander’s insights as an accomplished master martial artist and instructor casts leadership in a new light.

The GGCC’s “Level Up” seminar was an opportunity for professional development, focused on growing members as an individual, both personally and professionally, while providing opportunities to build skill sets and advance to the next level. The seminar was held at & sponsored by Johns Hopkins University Montgomery County Campus (JHU MCC). Attendees received a copy of Alexander’s book compliments of JHU MCC.
