The Chamber’s new name and logo signify a new chapter and bright future for our organization. In response to the 2025 strategic planning process and member feedback, it is important to ensure that our Chamber is best positioned for growth to serve both our current and future members.
We have grown in recent years, and assumed responsibility for the Clarksburg/Damascus service area from the Clarksburg Chamber at their request in 2021. Therefore, we want a brand identity that reflects who we are today, and also who we will grow to be in the future. For the Boards of Directors and leadership, it is important that this new brand identity captures those nuances to highlight the people, businesses, and geographic territories we represent.
NAME:
To reflect those changes, we have adopted a new name, the Gaithersburg Germantown Upcounty Chamber, which recognizes our continued expansion and service of the business communities in the Upcounty.
FONT:
The font of our name is stylized, unable to be easily replicated, making it as unique as our members.
LOGO:
Through surveys, open member meetings, and intake sessions, this exciting new logo emerged. This logo showcases a multicolor compass rose embedded in a circle, which honors our past by giving a nod to the previous compass rose, but modernizing it into a multifaceted hub of business for a new audience. A compass rose represents navigation and direction, symbolizing the Chamber as that sage navigator and guiding light for the business community, helping businesses and business owners navigate today’s landscape to thrive and prosper.
COLORS:
The array of colors were chosen to represent the Chamber’s rich heritage and diversity, highlighting the people, businesses, industries, and geographic areas we represent.
The greens: a nod to our municipal partner the City of Gaithersburg, our agricultural reserve, success, prosperity, growth
The blues: a nod to our previous blue/green teal logo, knowledge, stability, comfort, trust, professionalism, peace
The oranges: a nod to our Foundation, creativity, warmth, energy, enthusiasm, bold, optimistic, vibrant
The purples: authority, creativity, luxury, sophistication, complexity, unique
Together, the 10 colors in the logo represent the incredible cultural diversity in our service footprint, the #1 most culturally diverse region in the Country.
