GGCC Thanks Local Small Businesses: Smokey Glen & Quinter Design

Gaithersburg, MD – Thursday, June 20 – It’s National Small Business Week, which makes it the perfect time for us to show our appreciation to our members.

In honor of this week, the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce (GGCC) is making daily visits to small business members donned with balloons and chocolates compliments of SPAGnVOLA to show our support and recognize their hard work, dedication and impact they have on our community.

“All of our Chamber members are great, but this week we want to focus on our small businesses and let them know just how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication”, said Marilyn Balcombe, GGCC President/CEO. Our first visit was Smokey Glen Farm Barbequers, Inc. in Gaithersburg. We chose them for their support and annual sponsorship of our “Volunteer Picnic & Non-Profit Showcase” and for Mark Sweet’s excellent attendance at our monthly Economic Development committee meetings. Learn more about Smokey Glen Farm at: www.smokeyglenfarm.com. Our second visit was Quinter Design in Brookeville. John & Robyn Quinter own a graphic design firm that’s on a one-company mission to rid the world of unattractive and ineffective marketing materials. They are avid networkers and attend many of the Chamber’s networking events and always contribute a door prize. Learn more about Quinter Design at: www.quinterdesign.com.

The GGCC plans to visit two more businesses this week and will conduct a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Creative Edge Signs & Graphics on Thursday, June 20th. This ceremony is slightly different, as we will also be saying farewell to longtime Chamber Member and Small Business Owner Sam McNamee of Signs of Progress. McNamee recently sold his company to Creative Edge Signs and Graphics. GGCC Members and guests will gather at Creative Edge Signs & Graphics from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and celebrate this new acquisition and say bye to McNamee as he enters a new chapter in his life. The Ribbon Cutting will take place at 4:00 p.m.
